The Essence of Christianity
Christianity is the religion that worships God, with a main focus on Jesus, the Christ, who was crucified, died, and was raised from death to life. Teaching on the nature of God is one of the unique aspects of Christianity; it defines who Jesus is. God is the one and only God, but He consists of the three persons of the Trinity (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit). This seeming contradiction is a divine mystery which no human can fully understand. The Bible does not directly state that, "God is three persons, each of them is fully God." However, when one assembles various verses of scripture, the picture emerges undeniably. For example, when Jesus says, "I and the Father are one," He touches upon the Trinitarian nature of God.
